Santa Clara men’s tennis defeats Portland State and Menlo College in home matches

Santa Clara University’s men’s tennis team secured two wins on Sunday at the Degheri Tennis Center, defeating Portland State 4-0 and Menlo College 7-0.

Against Portland State, Santa Clara won the first two doubles matches and clinched singles victories on courts four through six. Valentin Faure contributed to both doubles and singles wins, with his singles victory on court five securing the overall match for Santa Clara. The final score was 4-0 in favor of Santa Clara.

In the second match of the day, Santa Clara faced Menlo College and achieved a 7-0 win. Ferran Redza, Alexander Watanabe Eriksson, and Lukas Maskow each won their doubles and singles matches. Mahir Khurana joined both the doubles and singles lineups for this match; he teamed up with John Kim in doubles on court three and later defeated Robinson Pelluault in singles to clinch the team victory.

Santa Clara’s record improved to 6-2 following these matches. The team will next travel to the Pacific Northwest to play against Washington on Saturday.
