The Santa Clara University men’s cross country team secured a sixth-place finish at the 2025 West Coast Conference Championship, held Saturday at The Course in Spokane, Washington. Daniel Trampe led the Broncos with a 29th place finish, clocking in at 24:24.6.
Other notable performances included freshman Zafer Courcelle, who finished 32nd with a time of 24:38.9. Paul Beaven (36th, 24:54.4), Kyle Berg (38th, 25:03.4), and Jacob McManus (42nd, 25:11.3) completed the team’s scoring five runners.
Daniel Vaca and McCoy Brooks also contributed to the team’s performance by finishing among the top seven for Santa Clara, placing 43rd and 44th respectively.
Santa Clara’s team score was 158 points, which placed them sixth out of ten teams competing in the event. The Broncos were just twenty points behind fourth-place San Francisco, which finished with 138 points. Washington State won the championship with a score of 26 points, followed by Portland with 50 points and Gonzaga with 58 points.
Santa Clara will compete next at the NCAA West Regional Championship on November 14 at Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento, California. The men’s race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., and live coverage will be available on SantaClaraBroncos.com.
