Santa Clara men’s rowing sweeps Oregon State in dual meet

Santa Clara men’s rowing won all races against Oregon State in a dual meet held on March 28. The Broncos swept the Beavers in the varsity eight, second varsity eight, third varsity eight, and varsity four events.

The victory highlights Santa Clara’s performance against an Oregon State team that was ranked 21st nationally in the pre-season poll. The event featured competitive racing throughout each contest.

“We had a great team effort today against a very good Oregon State team ranked 21st in the country in the pre-season poll. It was very competitive racing from start to finish for each race. Each boat handle the race day environment well. A big thank you to Oregon State for hosting us and great racing,” Santa Clara head coach Jay Farwell said.

The Broncos will compete next at the Redwood Shores Invitational II scheduled for Saturday.

Stanford men’s rowing finished fifth out of six top-10 teams at this year’s Sarasota 2K regatta in Florida. The Cardinal narrowly missed fourth place overall and posted competitive times across all boat classes.
