Santa Clara University’s men’s rowing team competed in the Redwood Shores Invitational II on April 4, taking part in several races throughout the day.
The event was an opportunity for the Broncos to test their performance against other collegiate teams. Santa Clara entered two races each with their varsity eight (V8), second varsity eight (2V8), and third varsity eight (3V8) boats, and raced once with their fourth varsity eight (4V8).
Head coach Jay Farwell said, “We had a solid morning session of racing against some of Cal’s lower boats. In the afternoon session against UCSD, we did not capitalize on a lot of momentum we have built over the last month of racing. Those were tough losses this afternoon but we will regroup as we prepare for our next race against Gonzaga.”
Full results from the invitational are available online.
The Broncos are scheduled to face Gonzaga in their next competition on Saturday.
