Santa Clara men’s golf announced on Apr. 13 the addition of transfer Jared Abercrombie, who joins the Broncos after beginning his collegiate career at California Baptist University.
Abercrombie competed in eight tournaments and played 24 rounds during the 2026 season, recording a scoring average of 71.4. He achieved five top-10 finishes, with his best result being third place out of 104 golfers at the UC San Diego Invitational.
In his freshman year with Cal Baptist in 2025, Abercrombie also participated in eight tournaments and completed 24 rounds, including 20 countable rounds for his team. His average score that season was 73.7, and he finished as high as twelfth out of ninety-two competitors at the El Macero Classic.
Originally from Simi Valley, California, Abercrombie attended Oaks Christian High School where he was named league co-Most Valuable Player and qualified twice for State Championships. He recorded a minus-seven score at State Regionals and posted three consecutive rounds of sixty-seven in league events.
“We are very excited to welcome Jared to the Santa Clara family,” head coach Andrew Larkin said. “He’s shown tremendous growth over his first two years of college and is coming off an incredibly consistent year. His experience and commitment to excellence is going to be a major asset for the program and we are excited to see what he does on the course next year!”
