Ro Khanna, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman for California’s 17th district since 2017, shared his views and acknowledgments on social media recently. Born in Philadelphia in 1976, Khanna has been an influential voice in politics after earning his BA from the University of Chicago and JD from Yale University.
On July 3, 2025, Rep. Ro Khanna expressed gratitude towards those who maintain operations at the Capitol. He stated “Keeping the Hill open and safe all night for votes requires a team of support. I want to thank the House custodial team and the U.S. Capitol police for your hard work last night.”
Later that day, Khanna provided his perspective on economic policy, drawing from his background as an economic lecturer at Stanford. He posted “As a former economic lecturer at Stanford, here is a factual explanation of how Trump’s bill hurts America in the short term and long term.” The post included a link to further elaboration.
In another tweet on July 3rd, he discussed potential impacts of proposed legislation on healthcare costs. He noted “This bill will mean higher premiums for those on the Affordable Care Act, higher premiums for those with private insurance as hospitals charge them more due to Medicaid cuts, and the shutting down of rural hospitals.”
