Ro Khanna, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 17th district, has recently shared a series of tweets detailing job cuts in various companies across the United States. Khanna, who replaced Mike Honda in 2017, utilizes his platform to address significant economic events affecting local communities.

In a tweet dated April 18, 2025, Khanna reported, “116 people lost their jobs with frozen food producer Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc., in Hayward, California.” This announcement highlights the impact on employment within the food production sector in California.

Additionally, Khanna shared news from Michigan regarding job losses at Evergreen Packaging LLC. On April 18, 2025, he tweeted, “Sustainable packaging producer Evergreen Packaging LLC, cut 153 jobs ahead of closing its Kalamazoo, Michigan, location.” This closure indicates a broader trend of economic readjustments affecting labor forces across the nation.
