U.S. Representative Ro Khanna, who represents California’s 17th district in Congress, recently shared updates on social media regarding his legislative activities and community engagement.
On April 7, 2026, Khanna posted: “I’m proud to lead a letter, alongside @RepRobertGarcia and @RepChuyGarcia, opposing the deployment of ICE agents to US airports. The Trump administration must tear this lawless agency down not expand their power and influence in American cities.”
Later that week, on April 10, 2026, Khanna highlighted his involvement with local support services for survivors of sexual assault. He wrote: “I was honored to be able to join the team at the SAFE+ Program Enhancement Center in San Jose that provides free 24/7 resources for survivors of sexual assault. This year I secured funding to improve the quality of care and expand access across the community.”
In another post on April 10, he announced funding for regional transportation: “I’m thrilled to have secured $1.2M for the Silicon Valley Hopper transit program. The Silicon Valley Hopper helps improve transportation across Cupertino and Santa Clara with an affordable option for commuters across the district.”
Khanna has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Mike Honda. Born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently residing in Fremont, he holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Yale Law School.
