On April 18, 2025, Khanna tweeted about layoffs in Benson, Minnesota, where 175 workers at tractor manufacturer CNH lost their jobs. In another tweet on the same date, Khanna addressed the broader impact of deindustrialization policies on American communities that have long depended on factory jobs. He noted that within the week, 1,786 workers became unemployed as six companies initiated mass layoffs and another six shut down operations. “Decades of deindustrialization policy have devastated American communities that relied on factory jobs.
