Rep. Ro Khanna, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 17th district since 2017, reported on September 5, 2025, a series of recent manufacturing facility closures across the United States that resulted in hundreds of job losses.

On his official social media account, Khanna stated, “Sonoco, a packaging manufacturer, closed its Santa Fe Springs, California, facility, displacing 46 employees.” (September 5, 2025).

He further posted about another closure: “101 employees were put out of work in Manchester, New Hampshire, when Intervala shut down its electronics assembly plant.” (September 5, 2025).
