Representative Ro Khanna, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 17th district since 2017, announced via social media on November 13, 2025, that he and Representative Thomas Massie have secured enough signatures to force a vote on a bill seeking the release of the full Epstein files.
In a post published at 00:28 UTC on November 13, Khanna stated, “BREAKING: @RepThomasMassie & my discharge petition now has the 218 signatures needed to force a vote on our bill to release the full Epstein files. Tuesday at 9am, we’re holding a press conference with brave survivors on Capitol Hill. We want a big vote in the House & Senate.”
Later that morning, Khanna emphasized bipartisan cooperation by posting at 03:20 UTC: “Today, @RepThomasMassie & I showed that it’s still possible in America to work across the aisle and make a difference for people. I hope any young person who is wondering whether politics is worth it watches this. Yes, politics still can be a noble calling.”
In another post made at 13:47 UTC the same day, Khanna criticized recent financial decisions involving international currency exchanges. He wrote: “The $20 billion currency swap with Argentina for pesos puts US taxpayers at risk given Argentina’s default history and the possibility of devaluation. This money could have been used to feed America’s kids.”
Ro Khanna was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently resides in Fremont. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 1998 with a BA and earned his JD from Yale University in 2001. Since taking office after replacing Mike Honda in Congress, Khanna has frequently commented on issues relating to government transparency and fiscal responsibility.
