Rep. Ro Khanna, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing California’s 17th district, has recently shared a series of updates via social media. These posts cover a range of topics from local community engagement to national energy policy and cultural celebrations.
On June 6, Rep. Khanna announced an upcoming event, inviting constituents to “Join me tomorrow, Saturday, June 7, from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm PT, for my San José town hall at Herbert Hoover Middle School (library), 1635 Park Ave, San José, CA 95126.” This event provides an opportunity for community members to engage with their representative directly.
The following day, on June 7, Khanna addressed concerns about energy policy on social media. He criticized former President Trump’s proposed changes regarding tax breaks for fossil fuel companies and expressed his opposition by stating that “Big oil has been fleecing the American public for too long.” He urged Congress to oppose a bill he believes will increase energy prices.
Later on the same day, Rep. Khanna extended holiday greetings to his constituents and others celebrating Eid al-Adha. He posted a message wishing “Eid Mubarak! Wishing everyone in my district and around the world celebrating a blessed Eid al-Adha.”
Rep. Ro Khanna has been representing California’s 17th District since succeeding Mike Honda in 2017. Born in Philadelphia in 1976, he holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Yale University and resides in Fremont.
