Rep. Ro Khanna, who represents California’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues related to housing, healthcare, and domestic manufacturing in a series of posts on social media this week.
On August 6, 2025, Khanna stated, “Housing provides a foundation for the American dream. It shouldn’t be a luxury only afforded to the ultra-wealthy. We need to provide assistance for first-time homebuyers and pass bills like my Stop Wall Street Landlords Act that will allow ordinary Americans to compete in the https://t.co/l9AwhkRzaE”.
Two days later, on August 8, he commented on healthcare policy: “Nearly 4,000 rural areas already deal with a shortage of primary care. Trump’s cruel and irrational cuts to Medicaid will leave rural Americans further behind. Taking healthcare from millions to fund tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy isn’t “America first.”
Later that same day, Khanna also addressed changes in domestic manufacturing: “Years of dismantling domestic manufacturing has left communities without the jobs that sustained them for generations.”
Khanna has served as the congressional representative for California’s 17th District since 2017 after succeeding Mike Honda. He was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently resides in Fremont. His academic background includes an undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and a law degree from Yale University.
