Representative Ro Khanna, who serves California’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted several issues and events via his social media posts, ranging from workforce reductions at a technology manufacturer to support for rural tech education and Middle East policy.
On August 1, 2025, Khanna posted about layoffs at a manufacturing facility in Northern California: “Advanced Pressure Technology, a producer of high-tech production equipment, let go of 89 employees at its Napa, California, plant.”
The following day, he shared an update on efforts to promote technology training for young people in less urban areas: “.@DigiNEST is doing incredible work helping kids in rural California prepare for tech jobs.
It was great meeting with Jacob Martinez, the founder and CEO, who is expanding AI and digital market training. We need to make this a national program and bring tech training to https://t.co/LdwspVm6Iy” This tweet referenced DigiNEST’s initiatives aimed at preparing students for employment in the technology sector.
On August 3, 2025, Khanna discussed community engagement regarding foreign policy: “I asked citizens in a packed town hall in my district how they felt about my leading the call for the United States to officially recognize a Palestinian state. Watch their response. https://t.co/VjirdrjK5J”
