Representative Ro Khanna, who serves California’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of updates on his official Twitter account, addressing local engagement, international human rights concerns, and education policy.
On July 29, 2025, Khanna invited constituents to attend an upcoming community event: “Join me at my Santa Clara town hall on Saturday, August 2, from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm PT, at Santa Clara University’s Recital Hall, 114 Franklin Street, Santa Clara, CA 95050. I’ll share insights and updates from my latest work in Congress. RSVP here: https://t.co/CTZoepePNN https://t.co/tabrQeVJRM”.
Later that day, Khanna addressed international developments with a statement regarding violence in the Middle East: “I condemn the killing of Awdah Hathaleen, a Palestinian activist and journalist. My heart breaks for his family and loved ones. We must speak out against violence and stand up for the dignity and rights of Palestinians.

On July 30, Khanna turned attention to domestic policy issues by advocating for expanded vocational education: “This is why we need 1,000 free trade schools across our nation. In an AI world, we need to double down on vocational education as a path to a good-paying job. https://t.co/5gqgJcVkHX”.
Khanna has represented California’s 17th district since replacing Mike Honda in Congress in 2017. He was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently resides in Fremont. His educational background includes a BA from the University of Chicago (1998) and a JD from Yale University (2001).
