Representative Ro Khanna, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 17th district since 2017, has recently addressed several key issues through his social media posts.
On August 10, 2025, Khanna announced his intention to subpoena documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. He stated, “I will now move to subpoena the Epstein “birthday book.” Epstein’s estate has indicated it will comply with a subpoena in response to my letter with @OversightDems. We need this critical piece of evidence while protecting the privacy of the victims.”
The following day, on August 11, 2025, Khanna provided details about an upcoming press conference regarding survivors of abuse connected to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. He wrote, “On September 3rd at 10:30am ET, @RepThomasMassie and I are hosting a press conference joined by survivors of Epstein and Maxwell’s abuse — several of whom will be speaking out for the first time. The survivors deserve justice and the public deserves transparency.”
In a post dated August 12, 2025, Khanna shifted focus to economic concerns affecting American households. He posted, “Over the last three months, household debt rose by $185B. Ordinary folks can’t afford homes. Let’s build more housing, pass my bill the Stop Wall Street Landlords Act, and make home ownership an option for young Americans.”
Khanna’s recent statements reflect ongoing legislative priorities in both justice for abuse survivors and addressing economic challenges such as rising household debt and barriers to homeownership.
Khanna was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently resides in Fremont. He holds degrees from the University of Chicago (BA) and Yale University (JD). His career in Congress began after replacing Mike Honda in California’s 17th district.
