Representative Ro Khanna, who serves California’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on his social media account on September 15, 2025, including rural hospital closures, upcoming education initiatives, and calls for bipartisan action on social media regulation.
In a post made at 16:20 UTC, Khanna wrote: “Since 2010, 153 rural hospitals have shut down. Trump’s cuts to Medicaid just shut down three more. We should be expanding quality care to all Americans by passing bills like Medicare for All, not taking it away.”
Later that day at 16:28 UTC, Khanna announced an upcoming public event: “I’m hosting an education town hall on Sunday, September 28 from 4:00-5:30 pm PT, in Cupertino at Cupertino High School’s gym, 10100 Finch Ave, Cupertino, CA 95014. Join to hear insights from my latest work expanding education initiatives. RSVP: https://t.co/pfLHTShRGT https://t.co/8JNaxPBEz0”
At 21:55 UTC the same day, Khanna commented on national unity and social media reform efforts: “I shared how we can speak to Americans’ spirit of decency and kindness to heal our nation and move forward. I admire @GovCox’s voice in these times and hope to partner on his absolutely correct call to rein in social media algorithms.”
Khanna has represented California’s 17th District since replacing Mike Honda in Congress in 2017. Born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently residing in Fremont, he holds a BA from the University of Chicago and a JD from Yale University.
