U.S. Representative Ro Khanna, who has represented California’s 17th district since 2017, recently addressed several issues on his social media account, including legislative developments related to the Epstein case and childcare reform.
On July 23, 2025, Khanna commented on the political turmoil surrounding a bill he initiated: “.@Lawrence asked what it is like to have initiated the Epstein release bill that is causing the House to adjourn and MAGA to splinter for the first time. I am saddened that this didn’t pass easily. Saddened, like @jonfavs, at how dumb our politics have become with Trump’s https://t.co/s0qjQmVeEl”. This statement followed reports of division within Congress over the proposed legislation.
Later that day, Khanna turned his attention to domestic policy concerns. He posted: “76% of Americans believe childcare is a major problem in the U.S. Our infrastructure is broken and we have to do more to help families afford care. My bill will give parents the option of care for $10/day while paying employees at least $24/hour.” The proposal aims to address affordability and workforce compensation in childcare services.
On July 24, Khanna referenced new information in the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s activities: “Bombshell revelation by Bradley Edwards on @Lawrence tonight. The Epstein birthday book is in the hands of the Epstein estate. Lawyers will turn it over. I will work with @OversightDems to subpoena. This is about the victims and justice. https://t.co/C8Os6bHTaz”.
Khanna was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently resides in Fremont, California. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in 1998 and earned his JD from Yale University in 2001.
