Rep. Ro Khanna, who has represented California’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently addressed issues ranging from workers’ rights to childcare costs and national unity in a series of posts on his social media account.
On September 1, 2025, Khanna marked Labor Day by acknowledging the contributions of American workers and advocating for economic reforms. He wrote, “Today on Labor Day, we must recognize the workers across the country who build our economy and strengthen our nation. We need to fight for a living wage and stronger unions as we work to reindustrialize America.”
The following day, Khanna highlighted the rising cost of daycare in the United States and proposed legislative action to address affordability concerns. In his September 2 post, he stated, “Since 2000, daycare costs have risen 153%. Parenthood is unaffordable for many Americans. We need to pass my childcare bill that will offer care for $10/day while paying employees $24/hour.”
On September 3, Khanna called for bipartisan cooperation on an unspecified issue involving survivors and justice. He posted, “This is not a political issue. This is not a Republican or Democratic issue. This can bring us together. Why don’t we do something good for the country: stand with survivors and show the nation we’re still capable of coming together when it matters for truth and justice.”
Khanna was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently resides in Fremont. He holds degrees from both the University of Chicago (BA) and Yale University (JD). He first took office after replacing Mike Honda in Congress.
