Rep. Ro Khanna, who represents California’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted concerns about American manufacturing and job losses in a series of posts on August 22, 2025.
In one post, Khanna stated, “Decades of failed deindustrialization policy continues to hollow out the American middle class.” (August 22, 2025). He further noted specific job losses, writing, “77 workers lost their jobs when food manufacturer Seviroli Foods closed its doors in Bellmawr, New Jersey.” (August 22, 2025). In another post from the same day, he added, “148 manufacturing jobs were lost this week when two factories closed.”
Khanna has represented California’s 17th District since 2017 after succeeding Mike Honda. He was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently resides in Fremont. Khanna holds a BA from the University of Chicago and a JD from Yale University.
