Born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently residing in Fremont, Khanna has a background that includes a BA from the University of Chicago and a JD from Yale University.
On June 2, 2025, Khanna addressed the rising housing costs in the United States. He noted that “In April 2025, the median U.S. home price rose to $414,000,” which he described as being out of reach for many Americans. To address this issue, he advocated for investments in affordable housing and highlighted his legislative effort with the Stop Wall Street Landlords Act.
The following day, on June 3, 2025, Khanna turned his attention to medical debt in America. He stated that “Americans owe at least $220 billion in medical debt” and emphasized that healthcare should not lead to financial distress. He called for congressional action to pass legislation he co-authored with Senator Bernie Sanders aimed at erasing medical debt (source).
On June 4, 2025, Khanna discussed funding for biomedical research conducted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He described NIH as “one of the largest public funders of biomedical research” and criticized efforts by the Trump administration to cut funding for crucial research areas such as cancer and Alzheimer’s disease (source).
