Rep. Ro Khanna, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 17th district since 2017, has recently shared his thoughts and engagements through a series of tweets. Known for his focus on healthcare and international relations, Khanna continues to address significant issues affecting both domestic and foreign policy.
On June 4, 2025, Rep. Khanna expressed concern over recent legislative efforts by Republicans which he claims would negatively impact healthcare access for millions of Americans. He stated that “Republicans are ripping away healthcare from millions of ordinary Americans to pay for billionaires’ tax breaks.” He further emphasized the need for Congress to intervene by vetoing such legislation, asserting that “Healthcare is a human right.”
Later the same day, Khanna highlighted his involvement in international diplomacy as he joined his India Caucus Co-Chair Rep. McCormick in discussions with Indian parliamentarians led by Shashi Tharoor. He noted their conversation focused on strengthening counterterrorism cooperation between the U.S. and India, mentioning that they aimed at “dismantling the terrorist groups that are responsible.”
Additionally, Khanna announced an upcoming town hall meeting scheduled for June 7 in San José at Herbert Hoover Middle School’s library. He invited constituents to join him in discussing his congressional work and activities within the district during this event from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm PT. He encouraged people to RSVP via a provided link: “Join me in discussing my latest work in Congress and the district.”
Khanna was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and currently resides in Fremont, California. His academic credentials include a BA from the University of Chicago (1998) and a JD from Yale University (2001).
