Pepperdine University’s women’s tennis team defeated Santa Clara University 7-0 in a West Coast Conference match at the Degheri Tennis Center on Saturday. The win brings Pepperdine’s record to 8-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play, while Santa Clara falls to 3-9 and 0-1 in the WCC.
Pepperdine secured the doubles point after Ziva Falkner and Alexia Harmon beat Daniella Dimitrova and Anna Rahman 6-3 on court two. In singles, Pepperdine won all six matches, including a victory by No. 10-ranked Anastasiia Grechkina over Dimitrova with a score of 6-3, 6-1.
Santa Clara introduced Madhu Satishbabu and Jamie Pope into the singles lineup at courts five and six. This was Satishbabu’s third match of the spring season and Pope’s second.
The Broncos will next face Portland on March 21.
