Stanford forward Nunu Agara has been named ACC Player of the Week for her performances in games played from November 17 to 23, according to an announcement by the conference on Monday. The weekly awards are determined by votes from the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.
Agara led Stanford in both scoring and rebounding during this period, averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds per game as the team secured victories over UC Davis and Lehigh. She made 75 percent of her shots across both games, converting 15 out of 20 field goal attempts.
In Sunday’s matchup against Lehigh, Agara scored 24 points while making all ten of her shots from the field. This achievement ties the school record for single-game field goal percentage. According to Stanford, she is currently the only player in the country this season to have a perfect shooting game with at least ten attempts.
During Thursday night’s win over UC Davis, Agara recorded 16 points and set a personal best with 16 rebounds. She is one of two ACC players this season to register a double-double with at least 16 points and 16 rebounds; Laura Ziegler of Louisville also accomplished this feat.
This marks Stanford’s second ACC weekly honor so far this season. Lara Somfai was recognized as ACC Freshman of the Week earlier in November. Agara is also Stanford’s first conference player of the week since Cameron Brink received Pac-12 Player of the Week honors in March.
“I’m honored to be named ACC Player of the Week,” said Agara through Stanford Athletics.
