River Mahler and Emily Jones have been named to the Preseason All-ACC team, according to an announcement from the conference. The Stanford Cardinal softball team was also selected to finish third in the ACC in this year’s coaches poll, receiving 170 points.

Stanford received two first-place votes, with only Florida State ahead in the poll after being chosen as the top team by 12 coaches.

Both Mahler and Jones are entering their senior seasons following notable performances last year. Each player was recognized as an NFCA All-American, with Mahler making the second team and Jones being named to the third team.

The Cardinal will begin their season in two weeks when they host Oklahoma State at the new Stanford Softball Stadium on Thursday, February 5. Tickets for the game are available at Tickets.GoStanford.com.
