Ro Khanna, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 17th district, has been active on social media discussing upcoming events and legislative priorities. Khanna, who has served since 2017 after replacing Mike Honda, often uses his platform to engage with constituents and address pressing issues.
On July 7, 2025, Khanna announced a town hall meeting scheduled for Sunday, July 13. He stated “Reminder: I’m hosting a town hall on Sunday, July 13, from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm PT, in Fremont at Grimmer Elementary School (multi-use room), 43030 Newport Drive, Fremont, CA 94538. Join to hear insights from my latest work in Congress!” The event is set to take place at Grimmer Elementary School in Fremont.
In another post on the same day, Khanna highlighted the impact of rising rent prices on homelessness. He remarked “For every $100 increase in median rent prices, homelessness in America increases 9%.” He advocated for congressional action by stating “It’s time to end the ultra-wealthy’s takeover of the housing market. Congress must pass my Stop Wall Street Landlords Act and give working families a shot.”
Later that day, Khanna expressed gratitude towards a colleague’s legislative efforts by saying “Thank you for your leadership introducing this bill.”
Ro Khanna was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and resides in Fremont. He holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Yale University.
