On June 6, 2025, Rep. Khanna reported that “Eight employees were laid off from textile manufacturer Robert Kaufman in Los Angeles”. This announcement brings attention to the ongoing challenges faced by workers in the textile industry.
In another post on the same day, he noted that “Pet and lawn products manufacturer Central Garden & Pet laid off 5 workers in Richmond, California.” This highlights employment issues within the pet and lawn product manufacturing sector.
Additionally, Rep. Khanna shared that “Automotive parts supplier INOAC Exterior Systems laid off 11 employees in Fremont, Ohio.” This underscores similar difficulties within the automotive parts supply chain.
Ro Khanna has been serving in Congress since 2017 after replacing Mike Honda. He was born in Philadelphia but currently resides in Fremont, California. His educational background includes a BA from the University of Chicago and a JD from Yale University.
