The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued one citation to Stallion International Trade, Inc. in Palo Alto following an inspection on Feb. 5 for Foodborne Biological Hazards, according to data posted on the FDA’s website.
Records from the FDA indicate the citation involved the company not obtaining written assurance prior to importing food that its foreign supplier produced the food in accordance with the necessary processes and procedures for public health protection.
The FDA routinely inspects facilities nationwide to ensure workplaces and their products comply with FDA-regulated laws and improve overall public health, with results made public.
According to its website, the FDA is a governmental agency primarily tasked with overseeing the safety and quality of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products.
