Stanford senior Cara Sambeth has been named to the All-ACC Second Team for the second consecutive year, according to an announcement from the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday.
Sambeth has played in all but one match this season and started 12 games ahead of Stanford’s upcoming ACC Quarterfinal match. She is currently second among Cardinal players in total minutes played, logging 779 minutes so far.
On offense, Sambeth has recorded four points this season with one goal and two assists. Her first point came from an assist against Ohio, followed by another assist on Jenny O’Grady’s goal during Stanford’s first conference win over Louisville. She also scored her only goal of the season in a 4-1 victory against Davidson.
Defensively, Sambeth contributed to a Stanford backline that achieved three shutouts and limited opponents to one goal or fewer in eight matches this year.
This recognition marks the fourth time Sambeth has received all-conference honors during her collegiate career. Previously, she was selected for the America East second team in both 2021 and 2022, made the America East All-Tournament team in 2022, and was included on the America East All-Rookie team in 2021.
Stanford will begin postseason play with an ACC Quarterfinal matchup against No. 2 seed Virginia Cavaliers on Tuesday, November 4 at 3:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 p.m. PT.
